Qian Weichang is the father of modern mechanics. Qian Mu, his uncle, gave him the name "Weichang". The Qian family, which is famous for having “six academics in one family”, is also known for Qian Junrui, an economist, and Qian Lingxi, a physician. The scenic area is located in the Seven Mansions Village and represents South China’s Yizhuang culture, because it was where the Qian elders discussed disaster relief, resolving disputes, and infrastructure. A remnant of this is the Huaihai Yizhuang, a traditional folk charity in South China founded in the late Ming (1368-1644) or early Qing (1644-1911) dynasty.
